Department of Operating Rooms

In 2025, a new Department of Operating Rooms was established at Bulovka Hospital with a clear goal: to map the occupancy of operating rooms across the entire hospital and fill them in cooperation with other clinics and departments in the event of vacant capacity.

More than 15,000 surgeries are performed at Bulovka every year, whether they are elective procedures or acute conditions requiring immediate intervention. The high surgical workload places enormous demands on the organisation of work, the availability of staff and the logistics of operating theatres. 

Thanks to the creation of the Operating Theatre Department in 2025, the entire process can now be managed more efficiently and respond more flexibly to the hospital's current needs. As a result, the overall quality of healthcare is improved and waiting times are reduced. We can therefore help even more patients in surgery and improve their quality of life.
