We provide care in the full range of modern ophthalmology.

Cataract surgery is performed using the most modern methods without additional charges (fully covered by health insurance companies). These surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis, in necessary cases on an inpatient basis.

The surgery is performed completely painlessly under local anesthesia and takes no longer than 15-20 minutes. During the operation, the cataract is removed from the eye and an artificial intraocular lens is inserted into the eye. This is selected by the surgeon strictly on an individual basis according to the parameters of the patient's eye.

Medical treatment of glaucoma (glaucoma) at our department includes the most advanced procedures as diagnostic (specialized OCT, UZ UBM, computerized visual field examination) and treatment. Based on a thorough diagnosis and treatment plan, patients are prescribed therapeutic drops exactly according to the nature of the disease and its severity.
If this treatment is not enough and the patient's condition worsens, we perform special antiglaucoma surgeries in the most modern way, fully covered by health insurance companies.

Retinal disease affects patients with general diseases (diabetes, vascular diseases) as well as otherwise healthy patients. To diagnose these diseases, we are equipped with the latest technology (digital retinal photography including angiography, OCT examination (computer imaging of the layers of the retina and optic nerve) and highly experienced specialist doctors. We use retinal therapeutic laser in the treatment of these diseases and perform retinal surgery in appropriate cases. Since 2022, our department has also been able to inject so-called biological treatment-antiVEGF preparations in indicated cases (retinal swelling at the site of sharpest vision due to age-related macular degeneration, retinal swelling in diabetes and venous occlusion). AntiVEGF preparations are injected into the interior of the eye and aim to stabilize the patient's vision (while reducing the swelling on the retina in the macula).

Our eye department also has an excellent track record in the treatment of diseases of the tear ducts of children and adults, treats and operates on all injuries to the eye and its surroundings.

Based on many years of experience, we conduct conservative and surgical treatment of squint in children and adults.

We also operate on patients with cancers of the eye and its surroundings using the most gentle surgical methods.
