Ergotherapy

Mgr. Lenka Freislebenová
Bc. Pavla Urychová

The outpatient clinic is located on the ground floor of the Clinic of Infectious Diseases (building 7).

The aim of occupational therapy is to achieve the highest possible self-sufficiency of the patient and increase his independence. It seeks to achieve this through training in normal daily activities (dressing, eating, personal hygiene...), training cognitive functions or selecting appropriate compensatory aids.

Ambulatory occupational therapy focuses mainly on the rehabilitation of the hand, restoring its full function and regaining its grip. It most often addresses conditions after injuries, tendon injuries, cuts, carpal tunnel surgeries, or conditions after strokes.

Ergotherapy performed in inpatient care focuses mainly on practicing normal daily activities in real-life situations and training cognitive functions.

An integral part of occupational therapy is counselling in the field of compensatory aids (wheelchairs, walkers, bathroom equipment, toilets, etc.) and assistance in their selection and acquisition.
