Clinic of Anaesthesiology, Intensive and Emergency Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University
The Clinic of Anaesthesiology, Intensive and Emergency Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University (KAIUM) is a joint workplace of the Bulovka University Hospital and the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University. It provides a full spectrum of anaesthesiological care for all other FNB specialties and intensive care for patients at risk of failure of basic vital functions in the Resuscitation Department. The clinic also includes the urgent admission FNB and the Pain Management Unit.
The clinic participates in undergraduate teaching of general medicine students and the master's programme of intensive care nurse at the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University. The research activity of the department focuses on the processing of biological signals of patients in critical conditions and their use for the determination of individual treatment goals.
KAIUM has full accreditation for specialization education in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine and emergency medicine. It offers physicians a unique opportunity for simultaneous training in both specialties.
