Science and Research

Within science and research, we deal with the mathematical processing of biological signals of patients in intensive care and blood clotting disorders in emergencies. Research projects are carried out in cooperation with the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of CTU and the Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Science of UJEP.

The workplace is the main investigator of the PhysioConnect project.cz - a multicentre database of pseudonymized data of patients hospitalized in intensive care with a special focus on high-frequency sampled vital signs monitor data (or their curves) used to conduct multidisciplinary research of collaborating centres. Potential areas of investigation include assessment of cerebral blood flow autoregulation (including determination of optimal perfusion pressure), research in the areas of heart rate variability, hemodynamics, neurointensive care, human physiology, and more.
