Ethics Committee
The Ethics Committee (EC) meets regularly once a month, also at other times as needed (grant projects and IGA projects of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic). New drug trials are discussed at the meeting.
The sponsors prepare an opinion on clinical trials of drug trials. They vote their opinions on grant projects, amendments to studies already underway, and serious adverse reactions are reported, especially those found in the hospital.
Documentation for an application for initiation of a drug study in the hospital is delivered to the EC secretary, PhDr. Božena Zachovalová, who will register it in the inbox book.
We have one external collaborator of the EC, Mr. Vladimír Ondris, who assesses informed consent for studies concerning AIDS/HIV positive patients. The consent opinion is adopted by a supermajority vote of those present.
EK has been registered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Federalwide Assurance (FWA) for the Protection of Human Subjects for International (Non-U.S.) Institutions since August 4, 2005. We are also continually preparing updating our registration information. The EC works in accordance with the ICH GCP (International Conference for Harmonization of Good Clinical Practice - E6) principles - Good Clinical Practice.

The secretary of the EC prepares the billing documents for the financial accounting, which include the following information:
- Principal Investigator of the study from FN Bulovka
- Address of the pharmaceutical company
- Number
- VAT number
- for foreign company, where VAT is not charged, the VAT number is given
