Content of occupational health services

Health assessment of employees or job applicants

  1. detecting the influence of work activities, working environment and working conditions on their health status and development of health status and assessing their fitness for work, during occupational medical examinations, which are medical examinations carried out by an occupational medical service provider or a registering provider in the field of general practical medicine,
  2. evaluation of the results of monitoring the burden of occupational hazards on the body of employees, including the results of biological exposure tests, to determine that burden; risk factors means risk factors of working conditions according to the law regulating the provision of conditions of safety and health protection at work and as well as risks of endangering the life and health of the employee or other persons during performance of work (hereinafter referred to as "health risk"),
  3. evaluation of the results of targeted studies of employee health response to specific working conditions,
  4. development of analyses of the occurrence and causes of occupational injuries, the incidence of occupational diseases or the risk of occupational diseases, or work-related diseases,
  5. evaluation of data on the impact of work activities, work environment and working conditions on the health of workers and related morbidity,
  6. monitoring the effects of risk factors of working conditions that may adversely affect the health of employees even after a prolonged period of time, in the context of an occupational medical examination, if this is expedient with regard to the nature of these factors.

Consultancy

  1. in ergonomics issues, including work physiology, work psychology, work and rest regime, setting performance standards,
  2. in designing, construction and reconstruction of workplaces and other employer's facilities,
  3. in introduction of new technologies, substances and procedures, in terms of their impact on working conditions and health of employees,
  4. in modifications of workplaces, including for employees with disabilities,
  5. in selection of technical, technological and organizational measures and selection of personal protective equipment,
  6. in issues of drinking regime and provision of protective drinks,
  7. in issues of occupational rehabilitation,
  8. in training and education of employees in the area of protection and promotion of health at work, correct work habits and retraining of employees unfit to perform their current work,
  9. in identification of hazards and assessment of risks at work and in classification of work into categories according to the Act regulating the protection of public health4),

  1. regular workplace supervision of work performance to identify and assess risk factors,
  2. supervision in factory catering facilities and other employer facilities2),
  3. risk assessment with use of information on the level of exposure to risk factors during work performance and results of analysis of the incidence of occupational diseases, accidents and work-related diseases,
  4. collaboration in developing proposals for employers to remedy the identified deficiencies, including a proposal to provide measurement of risk factors of working conditions.
