Department of Clinical Immunology and Virology 

Department of Clinical Immunology and Virology (OKIV) performs immunological examinations and serological examinations of bacterial and viral infections, both for inpatient and outpatient facilities of the hospital, as well as for healthcare facilities outside the hospital premises. The department provides advisory and consultancy services.

The immunology laboratory performs tests of humoral and cellular immunity, autoantibody tests, laboratory tests in the field of allergology and electrophoretic tests of serum and urine in the diagnosis of monoclonal gammopathies.

The Virology Laboratory provides a wide range of serological tests for bacterial and viral infections, including the diagnosis of mycoplasma, chlamydia, rickettsia and others. It carries out preventive screening tests (during pregnancy, pre-operatively, for high-risk contacts, and to determine protective antibody titres following vaccination – tick-borne encephalitis, tetanus, TB, etc.). The serological results include medical interpretations of the findings, taking into account the diagnosis and the clinical syndromes of the diagnosed infections.
