Centre of Midwifery
The first Centre of Midwifery Assistance (CPA) in the Czech Republic was established at the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Bulovka University Hospital and 1.
It was established in February 2019 with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
CPA offers respect for the wishes of pregnant and laboring women, support for natural childbirth, individual approach and comfortable environment while maintaining high professionalism and safety. The antenatal care and delivery at CPA is led by a midwife.
CPA has clearly defined criteria for situations at birth for which a permanently available doctor is called. By locating the CPA directly in the delivery room, the mother and newborn are assured of the ability to immediately address any complications and a physician is available for consultation at any time. Our goal is a happy mother and healthy baby.
CPA is a system of care provided by a midwife and the birth itself can take place in a traditional delivery room or in birth suite.

Notice regarding noisy works in the clinic building
During August and September 2026, noisy building work will be taking place in the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic building. Increased noise levels may also be noticeable in the delivery theatre, the postnatal ward and the post-operative ward. The completion of this work will also mark the end of the noisiest phase of the refurbishment.
