Pathology and Anatomy Department

The department provides bioptic diagnostics in connection with the operative department of the Bulovka University Hospital. All material taken during operations is examined by standard procedures and if necessary, we perform special immunohistochemical examination to clarify the diagnosis. Results are available in on average, within five working days of receipt of the material. We also provide peri-operative biopsies using frozen sections - an indicative method, assisting the surgeon in deciding on the next course of action during the procedure.

Another part of our work is (in indicated cases) autopsies of some deceased patients and consultation of findings with attending physicians - clinico-pathological seminars. 

Laboratory holds:

  • CIA accreditation certificate according to standard 15189 ed.3:2023 for specialty 823. HERE

Information for survivors is provided in person (not by phone) only:Mon-Thurs 8am-2pm, Fri 8am-1pm. Other times by prior arrangement.
