  • The clinic has had the following significant achievements in the research tasks it has been involved in since 1987:
  • first demonstration of ultrastructure of Borrelia burgdorferi in cutaneous manifestations of Lyme borreliosis (in cooperation with National Reference Laboratory for Lyme disease SZU) - 1989
  • introduction of the method of extracorporeal photochemotherapy into clinical practice in Czech Republic (in cooperation with Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion) - 1999
  • first demonstration of infection with Chlamydia trachomatis LGV biovar in Czech Republic (in cooperation with Clinic of Infectious Diseases NNB and National Reference Laboratory for Chlamydia SZU) - 2010
  • first detection of a new gene mutation in Pachyonychia congenita (in collaboration with Division of Molecular Medicine, University of Dundee, Scotland) - 2011
  • first demonstration of soft ulcer (ulcus molle) in Czech Republic - 2017
  • publication of the largest comprehensive textbook in history of dermatovenerology in Czech Republic and Slovakia "Hercogová Jana et al. Clinical Dermatovenerology, 1st and 2nd volumes, 2019, Mladá fronta, 1st edition, 1736 pages
